Services

The O'Neill Center for Student Access and Support provides reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • ADD-ADHD
  • Learning Disability
  • Autism
  • Cognitive
  • Hearing
  • Medical
  • Physical
  • Mental Health
  • Vision
  • Traumatic Brain Injury

Working collaboratively with faculty and other campus resources, we provide a wide range of support services for students who have learning differences, sensory impairments, mental health disabilities, medical or physical conditions. The center is designed to promote interaction among several existing campus resources and personnel. Students are actively involved in decision making regarding their specific needs and are encouraged to work towards increased independence and self-sufficiency.

Students with disabilities are enrolled in college classes and the college supports their right to access all academic opportunities and campus life activities. It is the student's responsibility to make their needs known to the college well in advance and to provide appropriate documentation of disability if services are requested. Timely self-identification will ensure that the student's needs are addressed. If accommodations are desired, the student should contact the O'Neill Center for Student Access and Support immediately upon receiving a letter of acceptance to the college. If a student needs alternative testing arrangement for the college placement test, they must contact the O'Neill Center and provide appropriate documentation of disability prior to the college placement testing date.

Potential students who are uncertain whether the college can provide for their specific needs are encouraged to contact the O'Neill Center prior to applying to the college. All communications are kept confidential.

Students are encouraged to meet with O'Neill Center for Student Access and Support before the start of their first semester to develop a College Accommodation Plan and to maintain a relationship with the center throughout their college career. We are here to help.
